This Privacy Policy explains how Netonams ("Netonams", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, shares and protects your personal information when you use our website, the Neto Quick Loans mobile application, and our related services (together, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
- Identity & KYC data: your name, National Identification Number (NIN) and a photo of your National ID, used to verify your identity as required for lending.
- Contact details: phone number (verified by one-time SMS code) and, optionally, your email address.
- Account & loan data: loan applications, balances, repayment history and marketplace orders.
- Payment data: mobile-money details needed to process repayments and purchases via MTN MoMo and Airtel Money. We do not store your mobile-money PIN.
- Device & usage data: app version, device type and basic diagnostic information used to keep the Services secure and reliable.
2. How we use your information
- To verify your identity and prevent fraud (mandatory KYC).
- To assess, issue, service and collect loans.
- To process marketplace orders and mobile-money payments.
- To send service messages such as OTP codes, loan status and repayment reminders.
- To provide customer support and improve the Services.
- To comply with applicable Ugandan laws and regulatory obligations.
3. How we share information
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with:
- Service providers who help us operate the Services — for example our SMS/OTP provider (EgoSMS) and our cloud infrastructure provider (Google Firebase) — under confidentiality obligations.
- Mobile-money operators as needed to complete payments you authorise.
- Authorities where required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.
4. Data storage & security
Your data is stored on Google Firebase infrastructure with access restricted to authorised personnel and protected by security rules. We use SMS one-time passwords for sign-in and apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to safeguard your data.
5. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as long as needed to meet legal, accounting and regulatory requirements. You may request deletion of your account (see below); some records may be retained where the law requires.
6. Your rights
You may request to access, correct or delete your personal data, or object to certain processing. To make a request, email us at gadgetsneto@gmail.com from your registered email or include your registered phone number so we can verify your identity.
7. Children
The Services are intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Services after changes means you accept the updated policy.
